(an artist)

Commissions cost no more than an original from my gallery and no deposit is required! Contact me to discuss making your idea for a picture into art to cherish.

I'm one of the W Berks/N Hants 2012 Open Studios artists, 5-27 May. Visit Open Studios for times; download a brochure (8.16mb); see my gallery virtual tour.

During my life as an artist I've always had a wide range of subjects, but my specialities have long been animals, both pets and wildlife, together with scenes of English rural life.

I'm also quite partial to a nice steam train, and I regularly provide cartoons for customers - whether to make business communications more memorable or for less commercial reasons - personalised greetings cards and party invites for example.

Pet portraits make for very personal presents (whether for yourself or someone else) and here my goal is not to 'just' accurately record how an animal looks, but to capture their unique character and spirit too.

I work with pen and ink, carbon and graphite pencils, charcoal, Conté crayons, coloured pencils and oil paints, as best suits the subject.

As well as working to commission, I sell both original works and prints, many as limited editions.

I also enjoy teaching drawing, to pupils of all abilities.

Whether dogs or cats, horses or parrots, country churches, steam trains or village schools, I hope you like my work.

Prices start from just £80 for unframed commissions (no deposit required); £25 for introductory lessons and £22 for limited edition prints.
